Place the 2nd field below the first one. It will slide up if field 1 is
empty. You want to set the height of the detail band toshow only field 1 in
design mode. The band will automatically increase in size when field 1 and 2
are both displayed. Remember, autosize height only works in one direction:
bigger.

Please open the attached jpg. I have two fields 'stacked'

on top of the other in the detail section of my report. The
first field is set to 'autosize'. The Slide Up setting in
the
second field is set to 'directly above'. How do I get the
second field to drop below the first field and display
correctly?

The second field is placed below the first one. I changed
the height of the detail band to only show the first field.
There was no change in how the data is displayed. Also, If
the first field is empty, I don't want the second field to
slide up.
