I've never seen that. Is this a pbl that he created himself using InfoMaker
or does it come from somewhere else?

Has anyone ever seen this before? I have a client in Switzerland that
cannot use File..Open at all to access objects. He can only access them
via the library painter.

That was my thought - it looks like a version mismatch between IM and the
content of the PBL. Probably crossing the 9/10 Unicode boundary too.
